Aluminum Strip for Heat Exchanger Fins With Blue Coating

Author: Nydia View: Time: 2026-10-29 18:05

Haomei aluminum strip for heat exchanger fins with blue coating produced by using 8011, 3003, or 1060 aluminum alloy as substrates, features a uniform, hydrophilic blue coating. Once stamped, these aluminum fin strips serve as heat exchanger fins and are widely used in HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including residential air conditioners, commercial multi-split systems, air-source heat pumps and cold-storage evaporators. Haomei aluminum strip for heat exchanger fins comply with EU RoHS and REACH environmental standards and are exported extensively to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Europe. They are fully compatible with various automated fin-stamping production lines.

Haomei employ standardized alloy selections and tempers to meet the specific heat transfer and structural strength requirements of diverse operating environments.
The primary substrate is the 8011 aluminum-iron-silicon alloy, which contains ≥99.0% aluminum and maintains a stable thermal conductivity of 220 W/(m·K) at room temperature. In the H22/H24 temper, the tensile strength is controlled between 125–160 MPa, offering an optimal balance between thermal efficiency and the rigidity required for the stamping process. This makes it the preferred choice for both residential and small-to-medium-sized commercial equipment.
For highly corrosive environments—such as coastal regions or industrial zones—3003 aluminum-manganese alloy is an ideal substrate; the solid-solution strengthening provided by manganese significantly enhances salt-spray resistance.
For applications requiring superior thermal conductivity, such as micro-heat exchangers, 1060 pure aluminum can be utilized, offering a thermal conductivity exceeding 235 W/(m·K).

Comprehensive product range, manufactured with micron-level precision, caters to diverse fin-processing requirements. Standard thicknesses of aluminum strip for heat exchanger fins span from 0.08 mm to 0.20 mm (including common specifications like 0.10 mm, 0.12 mm, and 0.15 mm). Produced using four-high precision cold-rolling mills with integrated, closed-loop, real-time thickness monitoring, our coils maintain a thickness tolerance within ±1.5 μm, meeting high-precision dimensional standards. Coil widths can be customized (from 100 mm to 1300 mm) to suit specific customer tooling, with a width tolerance of ≤±1 mm and a flatness (shape) value of ≤5 I-units—ensuring stability and preventing misalignment or buckling during high-speed feeding. Coils are supplied on standard 76 mm or 152 mm cores, with lengths reaching 8,000–10,000 meters per coil, thereby reducing downtime for coil changes and boosting continuous production efficiency.

The blue coating of aluminum strip for heat exchanger fins features a dual-layer composite structure with precisely hydrophilic and anti-corrosion performance. The base layer consists of a titanium-zirconium-based, chromium-free passivation film (0.8–1.2 g/m²), which creates a dense, protective anti-corrosion barrier. The top layer is a blue, modified acrylic hydrophilic coating with a dry-film thickness of 1–3 μm per side. The finished product exhibits an initial water contact angle of ≤10°, allowing condensed water to rapidly spread into a film and drain away. This prevents the formation of "water bridges" between fins, effectively reducing ventilation resistance by 10%–13% and improving heat-exchange efficiency by 5%–8%. The coating achieves a Grade 0 rating in the cross-cut adhesion test. It remains free of peeling or cracking even after 200 thermal cycles (ranging from -20°C to 120°C) and can withstand over 500 hours of neutral salt spray testing. Leveraging our extensive experience in mass-production quality control, we have addressed the industry-wide challenge of insufficient coating thickness at the edges by implementing in-line, meter-by-meter thickness monitoring and supplementary edge coating, ensuring superior performance consistency across the entire coil.

Aluminum strip for heat exchanger fins with blue coating are fully compatible with high-speed fin-stamping lines operating at 1,200 strokes per minute. During the stamping process, there is no die sticking or powder shedding; the cracking rate for fin collars is ≤0.2%, and the burr height at cut edges is ≤0.01mm, enabling a cumulative yield of over 99.5% in customer mass production. We offer customized coating thicknesses and anti-corrosion grades tailored to specific operational requirements. Each batch is supplied with a comprehensive material test report.
